How to block a participant from registering for your events

Restrict registration for problem participants: how to accept the feature's terms, add a client to the list, and exactly what becomes unavailable to them.

Sometimes a participant seriously violates event rules or behaves in a way that threatens the safety of others. The Restrictions section lets you block that client from registering for your future events — without contacting support.

What Restrictions are

Restrictions is a list of clients you’ve blocked from registering for your events. You’ll find it under Clients → Restrictions, and it’s available to every employee on the account.

A restriction only applies within your account. A client you’ve blocked can still freely register for other organizers’ events — they don’t see your block and don’t inherit it in any way.

Terms of use for the feature

By activating the feature, you, as the organizer, agree to the following terms:

  • Right to restrict. You have the right to restrict specific users from registering for your events.
  • Grounds for blocking. Restrictions may only be imposed when there are solid grounds — namely:
    • violation of the event’s rules, code of conduct, or internal order;
    • actions by the participant that led to, or could have led to, a threat to the life, health, property, or safety of other participants, staff, or third parties.
  • Mandatory documentation. Any violation that leads to a client being added to the restrictions list must be officially documented by you: an internal report, video or photo evidence, or written complaints. The platform reserves the right to request this evidence in case of a dispute.
  • Separation of liability. The platform only provides a technical tool and bears no responsibility to users for restrictions you impose, lost profit, or reputational risk.
  • Full responsibility. Full legal, financial, and moral responsibility for unjustified blocking and any resulting claims from users rests entirely with you as the organizer.

⚠️ Important. Before blocking a participant, document the grounds — a report, photo/video, a written complaint. The platform doesn’t assess whether a block is justified and bears no responsibility for it: the decision and all its consequences are the organizer’s responsibility.

First time opening the section

The first time you open Restrictions, you won’t see a list — you’ll see those same terms of use. The section stays locked until you accept them:

  1. Open Clients → Restrictions.
  2. Read the terms of use.
  3. Check the box “I have read and accept the terms of use for the Restrictions feature, and I take full responsibility for managing my events’ block list.”
  4. Click Continue.

Until the form is submitted, you’ll see the terms again every time you open the section. Once you accept them, they won’t be shown again — not this time, and not on future visits.

How to add a client to the restrictions list

  1. Open Clients → Restrictions.
  2. Click New restriction.
  3. Enter the participant’s email — the only required field.
  4. Optionally add a note: for example, the reason for the block. The note is visible only to you and your team; the client never sees it.
  5. Save the record.

The client will appear in the list with the status Blocked. You can search the list by last name or email.

💡 Tip. Even though the note is optional, use it to record the reason and, if possible, a link to supporting evidence (report, photos, correspondence). It’ll come in handy if you ever need to justify the decision.

The restriction card

The client’s card shows:

  • status — Blocked or Unblocked;
  • the client’s name, email, and phone number;
  • the note;
  • the date of the block and who applied it;
  • the date of the unblock and who removed it (if it happened).

Only the latest event in each direction is kept — the card shows the current status along with the author and date of the last action.

How to lift or reapply a restriction

You toggle the status right from the client’s card:

  1. Open the card of the client you need in the restrictions list.
  2. Click Unblock (if the client is currently blocked) or Block (if they’re unblocked).
  3. If needed, add a new note — for example, explaining the reason for unblocking.
  4. Save the change.

You can block and unblock the same client as many times as you like — the history always reflects the most recent action.

⚠️ Important. You can’t fully delete a restriction record yourself. As the organizer, you can only block and unblock a client — deleting the record from the history is available only to the platform’s support team. If a record really needs to be permanently deleted, contact us.

What exactly a blocked client can’t do

While a restriction is active, the client can’t, on your events:

  • register for an event the regular way;
  • buy a slot as a gift for someone else;
  • register children for the event;
  • accept a slot transferred to them by another participant (accept a registration transfer);
  • accept a gift registration from another participant;
  • accept a team invitation — the check happens both when the invitation is sent and when it’s accepted. If you block someone after they’ve been invited to a team but before they confirm, they still won’t be able to join the team;
  • buy merchandise in the event’s shop.

All of this applies only to your events. The restriction doesn’t extend to other organizers’ events — the block isn’t platform-wide.

⚠️ Important. The restriction is tied to a specific participant email, not to the person themselves. If a blocked participant registers for your event using a different email — under a new account — the restriction won’t stop them: the system can’t link the new registration to the one already blocked. Check participants’ contact details and documents on-site if this matters to you.
